Would Facebook to be blocked in Pakistan?

The Lahore High Court Justice Sh Azmat Saeed on Monday ordered ministry of information and technology to block access to all websites in Pakistan especially “Facebook”, spreading religious hatred on internet and to submit a compliance report by October 6. The judge, however, made it clear that no search engine including “Google” would be blocked.

The court issued this order while hearing a petition seeking a permanent ban on the access to “Facebook” for hosting competition featuring blasphemous caricatures.

The petitioner said that the Islamic values are being derogated in the name of information that is hurting feeling of billions of Muslims around the world.
Is banning FaceBook the only way to “Islamize” this country? What you think ?

I think they should only block blasphemous and unislamic pages, groups, profiles, events and apps on facebook, orkut, hi5 etc. instead of banning the entire social networking website.
As far as the banning of YouTube is concerned – as mr babar rehman has suggested – they should ban the unislamic and blasphemous videos and content on websites which are objectionable.
Banning Facebook, you-tube, Google etc is not the solution. If they want a healthy and islamic web surfing for every one in the country then they should monitor the internet websites and direct google Pakistan and ISP to block the objectionable, unislamic, pron. and blasphemous content and pages.
Pakistan will never be islamized like this first the need to eradicate corruption, injustice, illiteracy, inflation of prices and implement shariah law in the country.

Same trick is used by south Koreans and Chinese, cut off the people from rest of the world and make then believe that they’re living in the best country..

Highly obscene and vulgar Indian culture is openly shown on the cable channels and cinemas. There is no restriction on women’s dress code. Music and dance is highly encouraged. And the list goes on… Are these NOT against the Islamic principles? Are these NOT “derogatory” to the Islamic Law and Shariah?
